Apple is reportedly testing four iPad Pro units at Cupertino and San Francisco and now, a new report has revealed the names of the four impending tablets.
According to Greece-based publication TechValue, Apple is preparing four iPad models in different sizes. These are namely the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro 2, the 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and the iPad Mini Pro.
The report also reveals the on-board storage and colors for the four new iPads.
New iPads Storage And Colors
The 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2, iPad Mini Pro, 9.7-inch iPad Pro 2 and the 10.5-inch iPad Pro will all come in 32 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB storage options based on the latest rumors.
These are the same storage options in which the current-gen iPad Pro — both 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch models — are available in. The two models support Apple Pencil and deploy an A9X chip.
The four Apple tablets will apparently be made available in Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, and Space Gray options.
Both the 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch iPad Pro models are currently available in three color options, namely Silver, Gold and Space Gray. This suggests that the Rose Gold would be a new option. Whether Apple will also introduce the Matte Black and Jet Black options for the new iPads is not known. However, considering that these colors were prone to scratching, Apple may have decided to bypass the same.
The 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB versions of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro cost $799, $899, and $999, respectively for the Wi-Fi only models and Apple could likely stick to the same pricing convention.
On the other hand, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro (Wi-Fi only model) sets consumers back by $599, $699, and $799 for the 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB versions, respectively.
iPad Mini Pro And 10.5-inch iPad Pro
The iPad Mini Pro is believed to be the iPad Mini 5 - the successor of the iPad Mini 4. The 7.9-inch model of the tablet will reportedly undergo a name change.
The 10.5-inch iPad Pro, on the other hand, is expected to be a new offering from the company and will reportedly target the education sector. This variant is rumored to have a thinner form factor and will be nearly bezel-less.
Rumors are rife that Apple will unveil its new iPads at an event in April at the company's Apple Park. However, some reports have hinted at an end-March debut for the new tablets. It remains to be seen when Apple will finally share the new iPads with the world.
