The Internet hath no fury like an actress scorned. Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence swears she will never join social media.
During a BBC Radio 1 interview, a fan asked Lawrence. "Why don't you have Twitter and will you ever get it?"
Setting herself apart from the celebrity A-listers who are active on Twitter and Instagram, J-Law quickly responded, "I will never get Twitter."
Sitting alongside her The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, Lawrence's response to social media was the most serious moment of the interview.
"I had that one locked and loaded ... it's because the Internet has scorned so much that I feel like it's like, that girl in high school, that I'm like: 'oh you wanna talk about her? Yeah I'll do that. I'm gonna take my hoops off, I'm ready to go.'"
And who can blame her? Just two months ago, she was a victim of the so-called Fappening hacking scandal. In September, hackers made their way into Lawrence's private Apple account and leaked nude photos. The actress views the security breach and violation of her privacy as a sex crime.
"Time does heal, you know," she told BBC Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw. "I'm not crying about it anymore. I can't have my happiness rest on these people being caught, because they might not be."
So just in case you stumble upon a J-Law account on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, know that it "most certainly is not" the actress.
"I'm not very good on phones or technology," she added. "I can not really keep up with emails, so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me. I don't really understand what it is, it's this weird enigma that people talk about."
Don't worry J-Law, the Internet still loves you.
