The latest edition of the world's self-proclaimed authority on everything features one very familiar face.
Did Jennifer Lawrence just win the whole year? She's a constant presence in the news for her multitude of screen roles, and more recently for a naked photo included among the massive photo leaks dubbed "Celebgate."
Today she has a happier reason to celebrate. Guinness World Records 2015 has declared J-Law the "Highest grossing action movie heroine" for her starring role in the Hunger Games franchise. The first two movies, "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire," together grossed over $1.52 billion at the international box office. "Catching Fire" was also named "Highest grossing post-apocalyptic movie," topping out at $854 million worldwide.
Other new Guinness World Records 2015 honorees include HBO's "Game of Thrones" as "Most pirated TV program" of the year, Disney's "Frozen" was named "Highest box office film gross for an animation" (because duh), and this year's new "Godzilla" movie stretched the franchise to a 60-year run, making it the "Longest continuously running film franchise."
In other Jennifer Lawrence news, Lionsgate has released a new character featuring the actress as Hunger Games protagonist Katniss Everdeen in "Mockingjay Part One." The poster shows her from behind in her special Mockingjay uniform she dons while serving as a rallying point for the Rebels of District 13. Note the bird wing designs on the outfit's shoulders.
Guinness World Records 2015 releases on September 11, 2014. "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part One" will be in theaters November 21, 2014.
