HTC is rumored to be working on the successor of its HTC 10 smartphone, the HTC 11, which will likely be introduced in the coming months.
As the purported launch of the flagship smartphone from the company inches closer, specs of the HTC 11 have leaked online.
The latest leak has been shared on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, and reveals that the handset will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 CPU.
This presence of the new CPU suggests that the device in question will not debut at the MWC 2017 as HTC has previously stated that none of the smartphones it launches at the trade show will house this processor. It is believed that Samsung has monopolized all the Snapdragon 835 processors, due to which other OEMs are having to look for alternatives.
What The Leak Reveals
The latest leak shares that the HTC 11 will not only deploy Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 processor, but also offer 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of on-board storage.
Another exciting revelation is that the smartphone will run on not Android 7.0 Nougat but the newer Android 7.1.2 Nougat version, which Google released earlier this week.
For many it is hard to digest that the HTC 11 would run on this new version of Android. This information has given rise to speculations that the leak may not be authentic.
Moreover, the display resolution has been listed as an unusual 2550 x 1156 pixels, which further questions the leak's genuineness. This is a rather unusual resolution for a quad HD display.
The HTC 11, per the leak, will also run on HTC Sense 9.0
Rumored Specs
The HTC 11 is rumored to come with a 5.5-inch Quad HD curved display and older leaks point to a 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution for the handset. Older leaks also hint at the possibility of a Snapdragon 835 CPU powering the handset.
However, rumors have pointed to the device having 8 GB of RAM. An older Weibo post also hinted at the smartphone offering a whopping 256 GB of internal storage and deploying Adreno 540 GPU.
The HTC 11 is also rumored to sport a 12MP primary camera and an 8MP front camera for making video calls and taking selfies. It may also house a 3700 mAh battery and support Quick Charge 4.0.
MWC Release?
HTC's President has previously shared that the HTC 11 may not be called by this name. Since HTC is not launching any Snapdragon 835 powered smartphone at the MWC 2017 this month, it can be safely assumed that the HTC 11 will not debut at the event.
