The Samsung Galaxy S8 may not be launching at the upcoming MWC 2017, but this has not stopped rumors and speculations pertaining to the handset from swirling online.
Since Samsung partnered with Qualcomm in producing the Snapdragon 835 chipsets, reports have suggested that the company has claimed the entire supply, putting competitors at a great disadvantage. With the Galaxy Note 7 catching fire due to battery issues, the Galaxy S8 launch has reportedly been delayed as the company is being cautious.
Now, according to reports, the Galaxy S8 may up the ante and even better the Galaxy Note 7 when it comes to RAM capacity. The successor of the Galaxy S7 will apparently offer 6 GB of RAM according to latest suppositions. If the rumors are true, then the upcoming flagship shall be the first Samsung smartphone to offer 6 GB of RAM.
A recent tweet is the source of this information and also claims that the Galaxy S8 may be available in two storage options – 64 GB and 128 GB.
This list of smartphones offering 6 GB of memory has only been growing in the market. Following are some of the other flagship devices which offer 6 GB of RAM:
OnePlus 3
Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe
LeEco Le Max 2
If the latest rumors bear fruition, then the Samsung Galaxy S8 will join these handsets, which offer more memory than any other phablets or smartphones. The arrival of the 64 GB and 128 GB storage options for the Galaxy S8 will be welcomed by users as the U.S. variant of the predecessor Galaxy S7 was only available in a 32 GB option.
This extra bump in RAM for the Galaxy S8 also hints at premium quality hardware, which will be required to support the system and power up the smartphone.
Given that several features are expected to be launched for the first time with this upcoming flagship phone, it is being estimated that this handset would be a game changer for Samsung.
The innumerable leaks have let fans get a peek into the expected specs of the smartphone. According to rumors, the Galaxy S8 leaks could tout a 5.7-inch curved display.
It is also expected come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The Galaxy S8 may purportedly tout an 8-megapixel front camera and a 12-megapixel primary camera.
Apparently, it shall house the Bixby virtual assistant, which will assist in handling even more complex instructions when compared to rivals Cortana and Siri.
