Samsung is rumored to be working on the successor of the Galaxy Tab S2, dubbed the Galaxy Tab S3.
The Galaxy Tab S3, which was rumored for an IFA 2017 debut, will allegedly be launched at the Mobile World Congress 2017 to be held in February.
The tablet's launch was apparently deferred by Samsung because of the Galaxy Note 7 debacle; however, now speculations are rife that the Galaxy Tab S3 will be debuting soon.
The latest leak courtesy of Weibo, which is the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, reveals the alleged specs of the Galaxy Tab S3.
According to a Weibo user Kenneth Lai, the Galaxy Tab S3 will be powered by Samsung's Exynos 7420 chipset and will come with 4 GB of RAM, contradicting earlier reports which said the tab will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset.
The upcoming tablet will also have UFS2.0 storage, a home-embedded fingerprint sensor and a USB Type-C port. Earlier reports suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will come in two variants: an LTE handset with model number SM-T825 and a Wi-Fi only handset with model number SM-T820. The latest post from Weibo confirms the same.
Earlier in January 2017, the upcoming Galaxy Tab S3 received its Bluetooth certification, which fueled speculation that the tab would be unveiled at MWC 2017.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Rumored Specs
According to previous reports, the Galaxy Tab S3 will sport an 8-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels.
While the latest rumor says that the tablet will have 4 GB of RAM, it did not mention anything about internal storage other than saying that it will be a UFS2.0 type.
Rumors point to the Galaxy Tab S3 coming with 32 GB on-board storage and an optional slot for microSD, expandable to an additional 128 GB.
Unconfirmed reports also suggest that the tablet will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, as well as house a 4000 mAh battery. Rumors also hint at the possibility of the Galaxy Tab S3 having an 8-megapixel rear camera with geo tagging and a 2-megapixel front camera.
Samsung has already received approval from the U.S. regulatory body Federal Communications Commission for the Galaxy Tab S3. All devices need an FCC approval before the product hits the U.S. market.
Release
The launch date of the Galaxy Tab S3 series has already been pushed back because of the Galaxy Note 7 issues. Since Samsung will reportedly not unveil the Galaxy S8 at the MWC 2017, fans would be hoping that the much-awaited tablet makes its debut.
The rumored specs of the tablet paint a pretty picture for any tech enthusiast, but it remains to be seen what the Galaxy Tab S3 will offer.
