Purported Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Leaks In Press Renders, Could Debut On July 15

Android tablet fans can look forward to the future, as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 surfaced in press renders and could land sooner than expected.

A followup to last year's Galaxy Tab S2 is expected, and the Galaxy Tab S3 could prove to be a worthy successor to Samsung's well-commended tablet. According to rumors, two variants of the Tab S3 tablets will be on sale: one featuring an 8-inch display and the other bringing a 9.7-inch screen.

Thanks to the Twitter leaks of Evan Blass (@evleaks), we get access to what looks like an 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, and some of the new design choices are clearly visible.

The Galaxy Tab S3 showed its face on TENAA's and FCC's sites some time ago, offering a sneak peek into the device's technical specs.

According to the Chinese regulatory site TENAA, the Tab S3 comes with an 8-inch AMOLED screen able to display resolutions of 1,536 x 2,048 pixels. Processing power comes from a Snapdragon 652 processor running at 1.8 GHz and backed by 3 GB of RAM. For comparison, take note that last year's 8-inch Galaxy Tab S2 came packed with a eight-core Exynos 5433 CPU running at 1.9 GHz.

Storage space starts at 32 GB of default storage, but a microSD card slot is there to accommodate extra capacity.

The camera combo details show that the main snapper will be an 8-megapixel, while the front-facing sensor will be a 2-megapixel. Software-wise, the slate holsters Android Marshmallow pre-installed and is said to have a 4,000 mAh battery to keep it running.

Looking at the measurements of the device, it looks like the Tab S3 will have a size of 198.6 x 134.8 x 5.6 millimeters (7.83 x 5.30 x 0.22 inches) and a weight of 272 grams (9.59 ounces).

Samsung is keeping the lid on the price of the upcoming tablet, but keep in mind that last year's Tab S2 fans shelled out $399 for the 8-inch model and $499 for the 9.7-inch variant.

A special mention goes to the fact that the press renders feature a "July 15" date on the screen of the devices, which could subtly indicate the day of the slate's release.

We will report back to you as soon as we have details about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3's pricing and availability.
