Samsung Galaxy Note Edge phablet with 5.6-inch Quad HD curved display release details

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with Quad HD curved display will be hitting the U.S. soon. The company has announced the phablet will go on sale in the U.S. beginning Nov. 14.

When Samsung unveiled its just-released Galaxy Note 4 phablet in September, the company also announced a rather unique counterpart. The Galaxy Note Edge features the same powerful specs as the Note 4, including a blazing fast quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor and Quad HD display, which curves on one side of the Note Edge to allow users to have a second display that can show notifications, shortcuts and more without interrupting the main screen.

The Note Edge will join the Note 4 as Samsung's flagship phablet lineup.

The Galaxy Note Edge is also equipped with all the advanced features of the new Galaxy Note 4, including:

A 16-MP rear-facing camera with 8x digital zoom and Optical Image Stabilization for decreased photo blurriness, and a 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens that captures more friends and fun in the frame.

The S Pen is more precise than ever before and handwriting is more natural when interacting with the phone. Its mouse-like functionality lets users cut and paste, drag and drop, and do more than before.

Samsung's unique Multi Window feature lets consumers interact with multiple apps simultaneously. Users can resize windows and seamlessly drag and drop content between apps for added convenience and enhanced productivity.

The fastest-charging battery available on a Samsung phone, complete with power-saving solutions. Adaptive Fast Charging can charge a battery up to 50 percent in about 30 minutes for added power in a hurry. Ultra Power Saving Mode increases standby time up to 24 hours on only 10 percent of battery life, offering more battery power when users need it most.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge features a 5.6-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad HD Super AMOLED curved display and runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box. The phablet is powered by a 2.7-GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and has 3 GB of RAM. It includes 32 GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 128-GB microSD cards.

The Note Edge's camera capabilities include a 16-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and Smart OIS (optical image stabilization), and 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and selfies. It packs in a large 3,000 mAh battery with Fast Charging support.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge goes on sale Nov. 14. We'll report back carrier information as it becomes available.
