Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro And Galaxy C9 Pro Drop By FCC, Signaling US Release

The Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro and Galaxy C9 Pro have been spotted at the FCC, indicating that they could soon make their way to the United States.

The Galaxy C9 Pro already received international certification last month, signaling that it was ready to expand its availability beyond China, albeit it remained unclear at that point whether the handset would make it to the U.S. market as well.

If recently surfaced FCC certifications are any indication, however, both the Galaxy C5 Pro and the Galaxy C9 Pro will reach the United States. The FCC is the United States' official certification authority and it's usually among the last stops before a device is ready to hit the market.

Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro

The Galaxy C9 Pro spotted at the FCC carries model number SM-C900F, which falls in line with the model number that received international certification last month. The handset sports a sleek design and good specifications for its category, targeting the midrange segment of the smartphone market.

For those unfamiliar with the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro, the smartphone features a massive 6-inch Super AMOLED display with a full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor and an Adreno 510 GPU.

It all sounds standard midrange so far, but the Galaxy C9 Pro tips the scale toward the high-end with its 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage space, expandable via microSD. The handset further rocks 16-megapixel cameras on both its front and back, which should make it quite appealing for selfie addicts. Keeping things up and running is a 4,000 mAh battery, which should deliver a solid battery life on a single charge.

Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro

While the Galaxy C9 Pro already launched in China, the Galaxy C5 Pro is still in the rumor state. This means we don't have the official specs for the C5 Pro just yet, but the handset could make its debut in China initially, just like the C9 Pro, and reach other markets later on. The FCC certification indicates that a U.S. release is in the cards as well, but no other information is currently available.

Leaked specs for the Galaxy C5 Pro include a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a full HD resolution, an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of expandable storage, 16-megapixel front and rear cameras, and a 3,000 mAh battery. The smartphone could launch in Gold, Pink and Gray color options.

In other words, both the Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro and the Galaxy C5 Pro will target the upper-midrange segment of the smartphone market, banking on RAM, storage and cameras to stand out from the crowd. The purported Galaxy C7 Pro also leaked in live images earlier this month, suggesting it may be getting closer to launch.

It remains unclear just when they will be ready to hit the United States and how much they will cost when they do, but we'll keep you up to date as soon as we learn more.

Samsung has yet to make an official announcement, so take this report with a grain of salt for now.
