OnePlus 3T And OnePlus 3 Get Oxygen OS 4.0.2 Update, Fixes Google Play Store Bug

OnePlus is rolling out the OxygenOS 4.0.2 update, based on Android 7.0 Nougat, for it's OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 smartphones.

The OxygenOS is a customized version of Android operating system developed by OnePlus for its overseas market.

TechTimes reported that the Chinese OEM introduced the Android 7.0 Nougat-based OxygenOS 4.0.1 for both the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. However, reports suggest that some issues that were prevalent in the previous OxygenOS 4.0.1 update still affect the devices.

Newly Added Features

According to the changelog from OnePlus, the OxygenOS 4.0.2 update will see an upgrade to several new features.

New Notifications Design, New Settings Menu Design, Multi-Window View, Notification Direct Reply, Custom DPI Support, Added Status Bar Icon options, are some of the features added by the update as cited in the OnePlus official forum.

The upgrade also brings enhanced shelf customization and has updated the APN settings for select carriers. The update also fixes the proximity sensor bug during calls, as well as the Google Play Store download. It also brings increased system stability.

The changelog also mentions that the users may experience a slight fluctuation in the Wi-Fi connectivity. However, users were advised to get in touch with Tony from the official forum if they face any connectivity issue.

The Google Play Store Bug

The update will reportedly fix the annoying issue. Users are hoping that they will be able to download the apps from the Google Play store without any fuss post the update.

However, if any user faces issues they can manually go to the Settings and check the storage availability or follow the basic troubleshooting steps listed by Google to sort out the problem. Other than these methods, users can reset the app preference for Play Store along with switching the phone to the battery saving mode and then check if the problem is resolved.

Other Issues

The update brings "Updated APN Settings for select Carriers" as cited in the forum. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer comes up with this update to counter the problem with the handset's mobile data because of APN.

To sort out this problem, users can navigate to the APN settings page and try the available options manually. If this doesn't work, users can always send any queries to Tony or any other representative of OnePlus to get reliable guidance.

Most of the improvements that are mentioned in the changelog are quite similar to the 4.0.1 update.
