You have to see it to believe it: Kittens do the 'Gone Girl' trailer

David Fincher's movie Gone Girl got rave reviews from audiences and critics alike for its examination of two highly dysfunctional people in a very complicated marriage.

So, of course, the Internet did what it always does, and recreated Gone Girl's trailer using kittens.

A YouTube channel called The Pet Collective regularly produces videos of various kinds using dogs and cats. One of the channel's specialties is parodies of movie trailers, where kittens or puppies are substituted for the real actors, and the dialogue is often tweaked to make a non-stop series of animal puns.

Pet Collective has parodied Guardians of the Galaxy, American Horror Story, Scandal, Sharknado 2, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and even (believe it or not) 50 Shades of Grey. Here's Pet Collective's video for Gone Girl, which has been retitled Gone Purrl.

If you'd like to compare, the real movie trailer this one is based on can be watched here.

As for the work of The Pet Collective... It's undeniably cute. But is it funny?
