Dim the lights and gather around Twitter tonight to read a #scarystory. Best-selling children's book author R.L. Stine announced today that he will release a new story tonight on the social networking site, just in time for Halloween.
Known as the Stephen King of children's books, R.L. Stine, 71, continues to create creepy tales, proving that he can adapt to changing literary times. Stine currently has over 133,000 followers on Twitter.
A cliffhanger to this development, Stine did not release many details about the story. It is not known yet what time he plan on releasing the literary Halloween treat, but the best-selling author will be writing the story live.
Stine will also be tweeting from Scholastic's social media accounts on Thursday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. ET, answering questions about his kid-friendly timeless horror classics.
Stein's famous Goosebump series hit shelves in 1992 and he has sold over 400 million copies of his cult books since his first Fear Street was released in 1989.
He recently released a new Fear Street book, the first since 1995. "I thought I'd killed enough teenagers," he says. But then I thought it'd be fun to kill teenagers again."
