Square Enix will introduce a New Game Plus mode to massively successful Final Fantasy XV through a free update, which will be rolled out along with a Holiday Pack DLC that contains several new items for the game.
The update and Holiday Pack DLC, which will be released on Dec. 22, would be the first ones in what was said to be several additions coming to Final Fantasy XV through next year.
Final Fantasy XV Free Update
The first update that will be coming to Final Fantasy XV will unlock New Game Plus, which will allow players to replay the game's main story after they have completed it but with all of their skills, items, achievement and other data carried over from their previous playthrough.
There is no word yet, however, on whether changes will be applied to the second playthrough of Final Fantasy XV, such as a higher difficulty level, or if there will be perks for completing the game a second time.
Also included in the free update for Final Fantasy XV is a new feature that will allow players to add photo frames to the pictures that Prompto takes over the course of the group's adventure.
Final Fantasy XV Holiday Pack Contents
There are two versions of the Final Fantasy XV Holiday Pack DLC. The first version is the free one, and the items that will be added to the game through the DLC are as follows:
* Warrior's Fanfare - A sheet music scroll that allows players to earn additional AP for scoring an A+ in offense during battle.
* Nixperience Band - An item that gives players an additional challenge, as it will prevent Noctis and his team from receiving experience points.
* Carnival Passport - A ticket that transports players to the limited-time Moogle Chocobo carnival event at the end of January.
* Choco-Mog Tee - An exclusive T-shirt that will be made available in late January
The second version of the Holiday Pack DLC will be the one that is available to players who purchased the Digital Premium Edition of Final Fantasy XV and to those who bought the $25 season pass. The items included in the premium version are as follows:
* Ring of Resistance - An item that protects the group from magical friendly fire
* Tech Turbocharger - A device that accelerates the replenishment of Noctis' tech bar, but freezes his Armiger bar in return.
* Armiger Accelerator - The opposite of the Tech Turbocharger, accelerating the Armiger bar and freezing the tech bar instead.
* Blitzer's Fanfare - A sheet music scroll that allows players to earn additional AP for scoring an A+ in time during battle.
* Tactician's Fanfare - A sheet music scroll that allows players to earn additional AP for scoring an A+ in finesse during battle.
* Key of Prosperity - An item that improves that chances of enemies dropping valuable items.
* Stamina Badge - A device that allows Noctis to sprint and hang without running out of stamina, though there is already a trick in the game to achieve this feat.
* Carnival Passport - The same item in the free version of the Holiday Pack DLC.
* Festive Ensemble - An outfit perfect for the festivities, but will only be made available in late January.
* Exclusive Photo Frames - Photo frames that will be exclusively available to players who have access to the premium version of the Holiday Pack DLC.
There are no details released yet for the limited-time carnival event, which is probably the most intriguing part of the Holiday Pack DLC.
