Mariah Carey, Adele, Lady Gaga, Elton John, And More Sing 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' On Carpool Karaoke [Video]

James Corden has just revealed a brand new Christmas "Carpool Karaoke" segment. The clip features stars like Mariah Carey, Adele, Lady Gaga, and Selena Gomez singing a rousing version of Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You."

All-Star Sing Along

Viewers and fans of James Corden's viral sensation "Carpool Karaoke" segments from The Late Late Show with James Corden got an early Christmas present when the host debuted an unexpected treat in the form of a brand new segment. This time it was a host of A list singers performing an all-star rendition of Mariah Carey's holiday classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You."

Corden clearly planned ahead for his surprise gift to fans by secretly recording the song with a slew of his most famous "Carpool Karoke" guests throughout the year, starting of course with Adele whose clip holds the crown for number one viral YouTube video of 2016 and remains the most watched segment of the series ever, with over 140 million views.

Other participants besides Gaga, Adele, and Gomez include Elton John, Gwen Stefani, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas, and Coldplay's Chris Martin.

It's Mariah Carey however, the writer and creator of "All I Want For Christmas Is You," the most downloaded holiday song of all time, that rightfully anchors the segment, effortlessly belting out the tune like she could do it in her sleep. No one matches her performance of the modern holiday classic with Corden, although Gaga's vocals on the challenging track are particularly impressive given the situation's impromptu nature.

Some 2016 "Carpool Karaoke" Riders Absent

Although there are a slew of top pop stars in the clip, some of Corden's most hyped guests of the year were conspicuously absent, namely Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, and Madonna, leaving us to wonder whether they attempted renditions that wound up on the cutting room floor, or if they chose not to or weren't asked to participate in the first place. Did Madonna consider herself above it? Was Mars' "Carpool Karaoke" segment filmed too recently to include in the edit? Could Britney not remember the words?

Alas we'll probably never get the answer as to why those artists are excluded, but it sure doesn't dampen the spirit of the clip which brims with sincerity and holiday cheer.

Everyone looks to be having fun, most of all Corden, who is the secret ingredient that makes each "Carpool Karaoke" ride so special. You can watch Corden's Christmas present to fans in the clip below. Happy Holidays!
