Bystanders who subdued an extremely troubled homophobic man at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Thursday restore faith in humanity.
A man, who did nothing other than mind his own business, wearing a pink shirt, was verbally accosted by another individual as they were both apparently waiting for their flights at a boarding gate in the airport.
A video shot of the incident was uploaded to YouTube by Andrew Kennedy, who was simply a bystander during the incident, and has been shown on several news reports about the attacks. The video shows the man in the pink shirt being approached suddenly by another man who begins taunting him verbally and even starting to get close to him.
Bystanders start to gather nearby as the man removes his jacket and escalates his verbal abuse.
A good samaritan in a black cowboy hat attempts to dispel the situation by speaking to the man and ask him what exactly is upsetting him so much. But he responds by mouthing off more homophobic slurs while he points to the man and shouts, "Queers is what I'm upset about."
