Walmart will run flash sales of the Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition from Nov. 16 to Nov. 18.
On Nov. 4, Nintendo announced the launch of the NES Classic Edition and the company confirmed that the classic gaming console will be available from Nov. 11 from various retailers such as Amazon, Target and more.
However, all the NES Classic Edition units got sold out very soon after they were made available. Supply shortage has disappointed many gamers. The retail price tag of the gaming console is $59.99 but some people are selling the NES Classic Edition for as high as $500.
NES Classic Edition At Walmart
On Walmart, the price of the NES Classic Edition is shown as $498. The product is sold and shipped by a seller named Murloc Express. Many customers may pay this high price but others will wait for the NES Classic Edition to be made available at the original price tag.
Starting Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET, Walmart will run flash sales of the Nintendo gaming console and lucky customers can snag it for $60. However, the number of NES Classic Editions on offer will be limited. The flash sales on the console will run through Nov. 18.
Games Included In NES Classic Edition
The NES Classic Edition is a miniature version of the original 8-bit NES, which was released in 1985. The Classic Edition comes with one controller and 30 built-in games such as Super Mario Bros., PAC-MAN, Donkey Kong and more.
"Many of us have fond and wonderful memories of the original NES," says Doug Bowser, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Nintendo of America. "With these launch activities for the NES Classic Edition, we want to replicate the nostalgic feelings of sitting down and playing the NES with your family for the first time."
Extra Controller For The NES Classic Edition
Playing the game alone is fun but some games like Balloon Fight, Ice Climber and more are better when playing with a friend. Nintendo is selling an extra NES Classic Controller for $9.99, which will allow two gamers to play a game at once.
Saving Progress
With the NES Classic Edition, gamers will also have the option to save their progress.
"Pick up right where you left off with four Suspend Point slots for each game. Just press the Reset button while playing to return to the HOME menu and save your progress to a slot. Have a perfect run going? You can lock your save file and resume at a later time so there's no danger of losing your progress," says Nintendo.
So, if you want to benefit from the Walmart flash sales on NES Classic Edition, keep your credit or debit card handy.
