NES Classic Edition Will Allow Players To Relive Old Glitches And Exploits: Here Are A Few Of Them To Try Out

Nintendo only recently launched the highly-anticipated NES Classic Edition, but the retro gaming console is already out of stock in most retailers, causing lots of excited players to become frustrated.

Gamers who were able to acquire a unit of the NES Classic Edition, meanwhile, are now likely enjoying the nostalgia that the device brings. However, given the fact that the NES Classic Edition is basically an officially licensed emulator of old games, the device also brings with it the glitches and bugs that can be found in the original NES games.

For the lucky ones who were able to buy a NES Classic Edition, here are a few old-school glitches that you might want to try on the retro gaming console.

Super Mario Bros.

The infamous Minus World glitch of the original Super Mario Bros. can be relived on the NES Classic Edition. To activate the glitch, players will need to stand on the pipe at the end of the World 1-2 level and move to its far left. The player should then have Mario duck while still facing left, and then jump while still ducking toward the right.

If the move was done right, Mario will go straight through the wall and into the adjacent room, where there are three warp pipes waiting. Going into the far left or far right pipe will transport Mario into World -1, which has been named the Minus World.

The level looks similar to the water level of World 7-2. However, what makes Minus World special is that it never ends. If the player dies, they simply get transported back to the start of Minus World, and if they keep moving forward, Minus World repeats.

The Legend Of Zelda

At the start of The Legend of Zelda, players are asked to input a name. Players who type in "ZELDA" will allow them to skip to the "second quest" of the game, which is a much harder version of the regular game, without needing to complete the original version.

Mega Man 2

Players who reach Airman's room for the boss fight can try jumping back toward the boss gate using the floating platforms of Item-1. If they do so, they will be instantly transported to a glitched version of one of the later stages against Dr. Wily.

Ghosts 'N Goblins

There is a glitch in Ghosts 'n Goblins that allows players to become invincible against all the enemies, making it much easier to complete the game.

... Just kidding, sorry. If there is a glitch in the game, it is perhaps how difficult the infamously rage quit-inducing platformer is.

NES Classic Edition Supply Shortage

Gamers who would like to try out these glitches again might have to wait a while, despite Nintendo saying that it is working hard to meet the demand for the NES Classic Edition. The supply shortage has caused eBay auctions for the retro gaming console to reach astronomical prices, and Nintendo fans are simply hoping that such a supply issue does not happen with the Nintendo Switch.
