It seems like there is no escaping the pumpkin spice mania, the flavor is added to donuts, muffins, and of course the highly popular seasonal pumpkin spice lattes sold by coffee giants.
Some Starbucks customers were lucky enough to start sipping on the popular Pumpkin Spice Latte early this season, before its Sept. 2 nationwide launch. The company just announced that its coffee lovers will also be in for another seasonal treat.
Starbucks will serve up competition for the Pumpkin Spice Latte when it releases the Chestnut Praline Latte nationwide on Nov. 12. The drink will be the "arrival of the first new holiday handcrafted beverage in five years."
The company first launched the seasonal drink as part of their holiday menu last year in select cities.
The new Chestnut Praline Latte will not only be competition for the Pumpkin Spice Latte, but it will also be served in an attempt to boost sales during the holiday season.
"Holiday 2013 witnessed a seismic shift in consumer behavior in which many traditional brick-and-mortar retailers experienced a decline in foot traffic compared to significant growth in online shopping," Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz says. "Since that time, we have been focused on radically redefining the Starbucks retail experience for our partners, customers and stores."
Other seasonal drinks added to Starbuck's holiday menu include the Gingerbread Latte and PepperMint Mocha. This winter's cups will debut Nov.1, a few days before the first chestnut and praline beverage is brewed.
