Destiny’s Child Back Together And Reuniting? Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland And Michelle Williams Reunion Talk Sparked By New Instagram Account

Fans of one of the millennium's biggest pop groups, Destiny's Child, are wondering if a reunion is at hand after the group just started a new, verified Instagram account. Could band members Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland And Michelle Williams be planning to get back together to record new material and/or tour?

Rumors of a possible Destiny's Child reunion are heating up after the band created a brand new Instagram account, managed by a branch of the group's record label, Sony Music Entertainment. After the group linked its new Instagram feed to its Twitter account, fans went wild, speculating that the new activity was the start of a ramp up to a reunion of the wildly successful all female pop group.

Destiny's Child's Hit Making Legacy

Destiny's Child may now be known best as the group out of which superstar solo performer Beyoncé was born, but the band had an amazing run of chart and record sales success of its own in the 1990's and early 2000's.

The group is also known for its ever changing lineup of members, and the infighting and lawsuits between the various members and group manager Matthew Knowles, who just happened to also be Beyoncé's dad.

It was perceived favoritism toward his daughter and member Kelly Rowland that led to the ouster of LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett, who were ultimately replaced with Michelle Williams, as the group was eventually trimmed down to a trio.

Some of the girl groups earliest hits included "No, No,No" and "Bills, Bills, Bills", but they eventually moved on from the three word repeat hooks of those titles to more diverse choruses such as those featured in their massive hits "Survivor", "Bootylicious", and "Lose My Breath".

Their biggest smash of all, however, was their song from the soundtrack to Charlie's Angels, "Independent Woman Part 1", which topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts for a whopping 11 weeks in 2000 and 2001.

Back Together Again?

Although the girls split in 2005 to pursue solo projects, they have continued to support each other and even recorded a new song "Nuclear" in 2013, when Kelly and Michelle also joined Beyoncé on stage for her Super Bowl XLVII halftime show headlining appearance.

And while there's been no official word yet regarding the potential new reunion, Williams left the door wide open in an interview last year when the girls reunited again on her "Say Yes" single, a song which they all performed together in 2015 at the 30th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards.

"Sometimes you just know when to show up," said Williams. "Last year they came on my song 'Say Yes' on my album Journey to Freedom. Then they agreed to do the video and I was like, 'We need to just do it one time together because it's one of their favorite songs.' It's so easy to just pick up the phone and say, 'Ya'll want to do it? Yes? Cool!'"

Fans are clearly hoping that the girls of Destiny's Child pick up their phones again, and if their new account on Instagram is any indication, that just might happen soon.

Meanwhile, check out the group's underrated last song together, 2013's "Nuclear", produced by none other than Pharrell Williams, below.
