AT&T and T-Mobile have been accepting preorders for LG's newest flagship smartphone, the LG V20, for a few days now, and Verizon is also set to join the two, opening orders for the phone starting today. Aside from confirming the date, the Big Red has also shared pricing information for those itching to get their hands on LG's newest high-end offering.
Good news for those eyeing Verizon: it turns out that the LG V20 will costs less under the Verizon compared with the other two. You'll have the phone for no cost upfront but you need to pay a monthly fee of $28 for 24 months, amounting to a $672, much cheaper than T-Mobile's price tag of $769.99 and AT&T's $830. You can save a considerable amount of money should you chose to purchase the phone from Verizon.
The company's also throwing in a few promotions in the mix: for a limited time, customers can get a $300 credit if they trade in a compatible smartphone, and purchase the LG V20 on device payment. LG's also including B&O Play's premium H3 headphones for free to customers if they buy the phone on a device payment plan.
All carrier models include the B&O Play H3 headphones, so Verizon doesn't really carry an edge in terms of its promotional add-ons, but the trade-in credit and the much cheaper price are solid reasons enough to make Verizon a very reasonable choice to buy the LG V20 from.
Also more notable is the fact that when you buy the LG V20 from Verizon, you can avail the LG Stylo 2 V, LG's lower-range Android offering, for just $1 a month for a two-year contract.
The LG V20 rocks a 5.7-inch 1,440 x 2,560 display with 513 ppi. It's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and the Adreno 530 for graphics. It comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 2 TB.
On the back of the device are dual cameras, the first one having 16 megapixels, and the other having 8 megapixels. The cameras are able to record 4K video at 30 fps and 720p video at 120 fps. On the front of the device is a 5-megapixel camera.
LG's throwing three notable features that amp up the mobile photography experience: Focus Peaking, which highlights objects in focus, Tracking Focus, which keeps a moving subject in focus, a handy tool for those who often record video with their smartphone and the Zoom Slider, which takes advantage of the LG V20's secondary screen.
Additionally, the device includes a fingerprint scanner, a 3,200 mAH battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. The LG V20 will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, one of the few smartphones to do so.
