T-Mobile has announced it is now taking preorders for the LG V20. The carrier is offering some free extras, including a pair of B&O Play headphones, LG tablet and $200 credit for any 4G smartphone traded in.
Several smartphone makers are expected to see increased sales of its latest and greatest devices thanks to Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. Apple is expected to sell an additional 8 million iPhones before the end of 2016. Google's new Pixel and especially its Pixel XL should also scoop up some would be Galaxy Note 7 buyers.
LG, which was already positioning its latest flagship phablet, the LG V20, as a Note 7 rival is about to see how much of Samsung's problem becomes its benefit. T-Mobile has just announced that it is now accepting preorders for the LG V20 and in an attempt to attract more customers, the carrier is offering some free extras when customers preorder the phablet.
Customers who preorder the LG V20 will receive at least $200 in credit when trading in any working 4G smartphone. The carrier will also include a free pair of premium H3 by B&O Play headphones, which are a $149 value. T-Mobile is also offering a free LG tablet after 24-month finance agreement.
The LG V20 features a 5.7-inch 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD display with a pixel density of 513 pixels per inch (ppi) and is the first smartphone to ship with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The phablet is powered by a 2.15 Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU and 4 GB of RAM. The handset includes 64 GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot, which will support up to 2 TB expandable memory.
Like Apple's iPhone 7 Plus, the LG V20 features a dual-rear-camera setup, which includes a 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel camera, while the front-facing 5-megapixel shooter can be used for selfies and video chat. The phablet is among the last to still include a removable battery, which is 3,200 mAh, provides up to 19 hours of talk time, six days of standby time and includes Quick Charge 3.0 support. The device also features a fingerprint scanner on its rear case to unlock the handset and authorize mobile payments.
If you're interested in preordering the LG V20, head over to T-Mobile's online store. The carrier requires $49.99 upfront and 24 monthly payments of $30, or $769.99 full price. The LG V20 will be released on Oct. 28.
