Normally in a video game, dying a grisly death means game over. Take the new horror title The Evil Within, for example. Players can be killed in all manner of gruesome ways, including decapitation, by a variety of grotesque monsters and deadly contraptions.
Except sometimes that doesn't even work. As captured by YouTube channel Gamebill Studio, occasionally a glitch will allow players to live through their beheading and continue playing the game as normal. Or as normal as one can be without a head. Check it out below.
It's pretty terrifying stuff, but it does make for some comedic situations as well. In the video Sebastien Castellanos loses his head, courtesy of a giant propeller blade, but that isn't enough to slow him down. A fountain of blood pours out from his neck for a good eight seconds before stopping, but afterwards it is business as usual. He just keeps walking.
The next time the blade swings by it goes right overhead. Problem solved! Sebastien is several inches shorter now, after all. Who knows how long the glitch will last or if it resets upon entering a new area or dying, but not having a head might actually be useful in more than a few circumstances.
Despite not having a head, Sebastien can still walk, climb and fire his pistol at zombies just fine. That's what is really important here. At the end of the day, it's still not as scary as the monsters created by NBA 2K15's face scanning technology.
