The latest chapter of American Horror Story: Roanoke aired on Wednesday night, which gave fans more insight in to the mysterious colony that is haunting the Miller family.

While attempting to find out where the ghost Priscilla took Flora, the psychic Cricket (Leslie Jordan) holds a seance that summons The Butcher (Kathy Bates), complete with cleaver in hand.

We learn that The Butcher did not take Flora (if she did she would've already been pork fried), but will not stop her evil ways until the trespassers leave her property.

Lee Miller then contacts Cricket the next day to learn more about what exactly is going on in the house. Cricket tells the story of the Lost Colony of Roanoke, particularly about The Butcher who suffered a similar fate as another one of Bates' characters.

American Horror Story fans know that creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have tied all the seasons of the series together in some way. There have already been characters that crossed over between seasons, based on what we've learned about Asylum's Pepper and Sister Mary Eunice in Freak Show.

Roanoke will also have a connection to Freak Show by further exploring the Mott family, who most famously produced Dandy Mott (Finn Wittrock), the Twisty copycat killer. Season six also links back to Murder House thanks to guest star Eric Stonestreet becoming scared by the legend of Piggy Man, the mysterious creature in the woods (and in the mirror) of Roanoke.

And now we have a clever connection between The Butcher in Roanoke and Madame Delphine LaLaurie from Coven.

In the flashback that describes what Cricket is telling Lee, the viewer learns the backstory of The Butcher, or Mrs. Tommason White, the wife of the governor of the colony of Roanoke. When her husband goes back to England for supplies, Mrs. White is left in charge, only to find that some of the men want to move the colony inland for more food.

White refuses, and rules that they will wait for her husband to return. The men were not having this and decide to go to her bedside in the middle of the night to put an iron maiden torture device on her head with instructions to repent for being unruly. With her son (Wes Bentley) locking her into the device, she is left for dead in the woods.

Yes, Bates is in a cage yet again, sealing this character's fate—well, until Lady Gaga's crazy character comes to her rescue.

Fans might remember that Bates as Madame Delphine LaLaurie suffered a similar fate. Delphine was a socialite from 1830s New Orleans who hid a dark secret in her attic: she tortured her slaves with various medieval devices.

Buried in the backyard, she is brought back to the present day by Fiona Goode (Jessica Lange) and begins to change her racist ways by befriending Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe) while being in the witches' house.

She then falls back into her evil ways and tortures, kills and chops up Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett), only to be later killed by Queenie after a deal is made with Papa Legba. Delphine is then exiled to hell where she is told she will spend the rest of entirety in the same torture chamber she used on her slaves.

So there you have it, both Bates' Roanoke and Coven characters end up in torture chambers, a connection only die-hard AHS fans probably caught.

American Horror Story: Roanoke airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
