The launch of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus has already been a goldmine for T-Mobile. The Un-carrier revealed last week that sales figures for the new smartphone were four times more than those of the iPhone 6 and 6s, with both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus being the most preordered device in T-Mobile's history.
"This has been the biggest launch ever for us," T-Mobile CEO John Legere said in a Pericope broadcast last Monday.
And while all of the major carriers helped Apple sell its latest device by taking preorders and offering promotions, it appears that most customers who didn't order it from Apple itself did so through T-Mobile. Legere revealed that an increased amount of people are switching from other carriers to become T-Mobile customers, citing being the first to offer a trade-in promotion for the iPhone 7 as one of the reasons why it has had such a strong Q3 thus far.
With so much demand for the new Apple smartphones, customers have been given a range of estimated shipping dates, meaning many people are still waiting for the preorders to arrive even though the device launched on Sept. 16.
Of course the two new color options are the most desired. But interestingly enough, Legere revealed that the Matte Black color, not Jet Black, has been the most preordered color option among customers.
Customers who ordered these colors have had no choice but remain patient for them to be shipped because of the high demand. And while many customers are taking to Twitter to reveal that their black iPhones ordered from Apple are shipping earlier than expected, T-Mobile customers continue to keep waiting.
Well, until now. Finally customers are reporting that they are now getting their black iPhone 7 and 7 Plus phones. Some T-Mobile customers are taking to Twitter and forums to reveal that they are being charged for their purchase or have received confirmation that their iPhone 7 Plus has shipped.
On the Mac Rumors iPhone 7/7+ T-Mobile preorder thread, people also shared the good news that their 128 GB Matte Black Plus was just delivered after preordering on Sept. 9. It seems like once the customer is charged, the smartphone will be sent out for delivery the next day.
Most of those who reported they received shipping confirmation were given estimated shipping dates from Sept. 19 through Sept. 26. There are still plenty of people stating they have yet to be charged or get any shipping info, but there is still hope for those with these early shipping dates that the black 7 Plus will arrive this week.
While this is optimistic news for Matte Black customers, those who ordered Jet Black models continue to wait.
According to the forum, those who ordered Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus phones have yet to get any more info about when they should be expecting their device. It's looking like these customers might be the last on the list to get their shipments.
Then again since this is a forum, there is a good chance some people are trolling to make others believe their 256 GB models are on its way.
Good things come to those who wait, Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus customers.
