'Titanfall 2' Big Improvements Coming Based On Fan Feedback After Multiplayer Tech Test

Titanfall 2 is set to receive some huge improvements across the board in time before the next tech test kicks off, and it's all thanks to a successful run of the first one last weekend.

While the main purpose of the test was to focus on evaluating the new matchmaking system and server stability, Respawn Entertainment appears to have listened to the people.

Assuring that the complaints about Titanfall 2 didn't fall on deaf ears, the developer announced that it's going to update the game based on fan feedback.

Before going over what's in store, players who participated in the test run primarily criticized the changes to the Titans, map design and many more. In response, Respawn Entertainment is rolling out improvements to address these issues.

Coming straight from the horse's mouth, here's the gist of what's coming:

Pilot Mobility

• We'll be tuning air speed and wall-running speed to be faster.

• Players should once again accumulate and retain more speed when chaining wallruns.

Titan Meter

• Pilots will once again acquire a small passive amount of Titan meter every few seconds.

Titan Mobility

• Titan dashes will recharge faster.

Map Design

• We'll be showcasing more maps over the next couple weeks on our website, including more traditional Titanfall maps.

Note: It should be pointed out that some of the testers have asked whether or not the "relatively flat and open design" of Homestead is going to be the new direction for the game, and Respawn Entertainment says that's not the case.

HUD

• We're going to bring in the fade distance for enemy outlines so they don't reveal pilots at extreme distances.

On top of those, the company mentions that Titans are now going to have a battery system instead of energy shields to change things up in terms of Titan survivability.

Now, as everyone may recall, the first multiplayer tech test only allowed PS4 and Xbox One gamers to participate, and on an interesting note, that's because the developers feared that hackers may access the PC files and spoil the surprises in single player mode.

To sum things up, fans everywhere can expect a polished game when Titanfall 2 finally rolls out, as Respawn Entertainment is more than determined to get everything in tip-top shape before then. Needless to say, these multiplayer tech tests seem to be beneficial for the developers and, ultimately, for the players.

Titanfall 2 is slated to go official on Oct. 28 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
