Dunkin' Donuts has announced that it will now be offering delivery directly to the doors of its New York City customers via the DoorDash app and service. Customers can also get their first deliveries free of charge as Dunkin' and DoorDash have teamed up to offer free delivery to all NYC customers through Aug. 7.
Dunkin' Donuts is one of the most popular and ubiquitous fast food restaurants in New York. It seems as if there's a Dunkin' Donuts on every corner of Manhattan these days, but New Yorkers are always looking for even more convenience, and one of those lacking via Dunkin' Donuts until now has been the option to have one's order delivered.
Now, it will be even easier for New Yorkers in Manhattan and Brooklyn to get their Dunkin' fix, as delivery is available in both boroughs via the DoorDash app. Dunkin' is already offering delivery through the app in select cities, including, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.
"Our guests in this area are some of our busiest and most loyal customers, and getting around town can be quite time consuming, so we're very excited to make Dunkin' Delivery available through DoorDash to keep people running on our wide array of food and beverage options in a convenient and easy way. The ability to have Dunkin' items delivered directly to you is something that our guests have been requesting for some time and we will continue to evaluate a possible national rollout in the future," said Sherrill Kaplan, Vice President of Digital Marketing and Innovation for Dunkin' Donuts.
The door-to-door delivery of Dunkin's most popular food and drink items is promised within 45 minutes or less. In order to introduce the service, through Aug. 7, all deliveries ordered in the New York region will be made free of charge, Prahar Shah, Director of Business Development for DoorDash, announced on the company's blog.
Dunkin' Donuts has been doing its best to step up its game in the fast food wars, having recently introduced on-the-go ordering via its newly-designed app. Customers can order and pay at their favorite location via the app and expect their food and drinks to be prepared and available for pickup once they arrive.
Dunkin' has also pledged to improve the quality of its food offerings, specifically to rework the egg ingredient that it uses in many of its breakfast sandwiches. Though the patty appears to be a fried egg, it is actually an egg patty that consists only partially of egg, and the company recently promised to improve it.
