Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe Is Officially The First Smartphone To Rock The Latest Snapdragon 821 Chip

Asus keeps its word and shares details about the prices and availability of its ZenFone family of handsets, and a flagship killer might be among them.

During a recent Taiwan event, the company presented a new ZenFone 3 Deluxe variant and the device will be the first commercial smartphone to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 CPU. At the event, Asus also showcased the ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M) tablet.

The brand new Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe will come at a price point of NT$24,990, or about $780 and is supposed to land in stores later this year.

In August, Taiwan will be the first market to get access to other ZenFone 3 Deluxe variants, which will come carrying the Snapdragon 820. The OEM did not mention anything about overseas markets.

However, Asus did confirm that the ZenFone 3 can now be purchased in Taiwan. Meanwhile, the ZenFone 3 Ultra can only be pre-ordered and should be available by the end of July.

What else is there to the ZenFone3 Deluxe to be excited about?

The processing power of the device relies on the Snapdragon 821 SoC, which is backed by a whopping 6 GB of DDR4 RAM. Asus made no compromises in terms of storage, as the phone carries a glorious 256 GB of UFS 2.0 default space. Thanks to a microSD that gets inserted into a second SIM slot, the device can be upgraded with a maximum of 128 GB of storage.

The screen of the device is a 5.7-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display.

Mobile photography enthusiasts have reasons to be jolly, as the ZenFone3 Deluxe comes with a 23-megapixel Sony sensor on the back and with an 8-megapixel front camera perfect for selfies. Keep in mind that the main camera can take 4K video captures.

A medium-sized 3,000 mAh power source keeps the juices flowing through the device. Software wise, the ZenFone3 Deluxe is running on Zen UI, which is built on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Keep in mind that another, medium-priced ZenFone 3 Deluxe variant exists, as well, and it comes loaded with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB of default storage.

The OEM also used the Taiwan event to unveil the ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M) tablet.

The slate has a 9.7-inch LCD screen able to display resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels.

Looking under its hood, the ZenPad 3S 10 shows 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of space. Users are able to load more storage into it via a microSD card. The camera combo is more modest than the one on the smartphone, with an 8-megapixel rear sensor and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper.

The slate uses a hexa-core MediaTek (MT8176) chipset that runs at 1.7 GHz, and is equipped with a fingerprint scanner for increased security. Software wise, Asus Zen UI is found here as well.

Reports indicate that the Asus ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M) will be available for purchase in August, for a price of NT$10,990, or roughly $340.

Back in May, the OEM unveiled the prices for a part of the ZenFone 3 family.

At the time, Asus said that the ZenFone 3 (ZE552KL) will cost $249, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) will ask buyers to shell out $499 and the ZenFone 3 Ultra (ZU680KL) will have a price point of $479.
