The "biggest update" so far for Fallout Shelter will land on Android and iOS devices everywhere this week, and to keep the good news going, it's also heading to the PC at the same time.
Right off the bat, Bethesda spread the word via Twitter, saying that the patch and port will start rolling out in five days. The tweet's timestamp is July 9 at 11:00 a.m., and that means that the good stuff will go live on July 13 if the developers included July 9 as part of the countdown or on July 14 if they didn't. However, the release also depends on the time zone, so it's pretty hard to pinpoint the exact day.
At any rate, the big takeaway from the announcement is that more Fallout Shelter content along with support for another platform are about to come in a few days' time, and it's advised to keep an eye out for them.
As Bethesda mentioned back at E3 2016 and repeated just recently, the 1.6 update is massive. It's expected to bring even more vault dwellers, plenty of foes to take down, a lot of new places to go to and a new battle system. The fun doesn't stop there either, as Overseers will have the option to send out dwellers to the Wasteland on quests.
It's still unclear whether or not there will be significant differences between the PC and mobile versions, not to mention that details of the update haven't been divulged yet, but considering that the launch is near, it's more or less a safe bet to assume that everything will be explained soon enough.
For a quick little history, Fallout Shelter for iOS was first released across the globe in June 2015, and the Android version soon followed after a few months in August. This shouldn't come as much of a surprise, but the mobile game met great success, with players clocking in about 30 million hours' worth of gameplay in the first month after it went official.
