Pangu Team Demonstrates iOS 10 Jailbreak At MOSEC Security Conference: What About iOS 9.3.2 Jailbreak?

Pangu, the respected Chinese jailbreak developer team, recently showcased its success in jailbreaking iOS 10 during the MOSEC 2016 conference.

The event took place on July 1 in China, and the team used its stage time to demonstrate that Cydia can run smoothly on the device. Pangu kept the lid on advanced details about the jailbreak, but it did present a number of photos that portrayed Cydia running on the latest iOS version.

This practically confirms that iOS 10 supports jailbreaking, and the modified OS can work smoothly after being toyed with.

Superphen did quote a number of live tweets at the event, where the Pangu team took queries from fans.

Those from the jailbreaking team even went as far as to hint that they are working to roll out a public version of iOS 9.3.2 jailbreak. They did not set a timetable for the feat, and you should keep in mind that the information is reported third-handedly, so a grain of salt (or more) is advised.

The first instance of public beta for iOS 10 was released on June 13 and it did not take long for fans to jump on the occasion and jailbreak it. In June, the jailbreaking team iH8Sn0w showcased a video of an iPhone 5 that was running on iOS 10 with an untethered jailbreak. The Pangu team, however, upped the ante and used an iPhone 6/6s for its jailbreaking demonstration.

Looking at how promising the recent iOS 10 jailbreak developments are, the community that enjoys tinkering with Apple's mobile operating system has something to look forward to.

As Pangu was very discreet about exactly how it managed to get Cydia working on iOS 10, it is premature to say what type of exploit the team deployed. It should be noted that Apple might identify and patch up the exploits in the next rollout of iOS 10, which is scheduled a few weeks later.

On the bright side, Pangu says that it has uncovered access to essential vulnerabilities in the beta 1 variant of iOS 10, which are currently not resolved by Apple. This means that Apple has an additional incentive to fix its security liabilities before rolling out the public release of iOS 10.

While it is plausible that Pangu will bring an iOS 9.3.2 jailbreak within the next few days or weeks, it looks like its efforts invested into jailbreaking iOS 10 paid off.

Previous rumors said that the iOS 9.3.2 was supposed to make an appearance before the WWDC event, but the jailbreaking community got the iOS 10 jailbreak instead.
