So you've got Destiny and you've figured out how to fight and level up and all that jazz. The game does a pretty good job of teaching you this stuff itself.
But what about all the stuff it doesn't teach you? Such as, what happens when you get to Level 20 and it doesn't let you level up the same way anymore? Or how to get free ammo? What do all those crazy error codes mean, and how do you fix them? Bet you didn't know that there's a hidden mode on Mercury called "Trials of Osiris."
Fortunately for you, gamers and professionals have been chronicling their discoveries hidden deep within Destiny's many secrets since the game's launch. Freebie Codes
There's no better place to start than with this list of 29 codes anyone can use to unlock free goodies that otherwise you'd have to hunt for or buy in the game with Glimmer. You'll find over a dozen Grimoire Cards, a bunch of Emblems, and two free Shaders.
Leveling Up

It wouldn't be an MMO if there weren't some programming quirks to exploit. In this case, we're talking about the lusted-after "loot farms." These are enclosed spots where you can kill continuously respawning enemies and "farm" all the loot they drop. It's a quick, easy way to score loot, but you have to keep at it for a while to nab the best stuff, as those drops are pretty rare. One caveat to remember: Bungie will continue to patch Destiny over time, so enjoy these loot farms while they're still around, but don't be surprised when they disappear.

Spread throughout Destiny's various planets, there are 20 golden chests waiting to be found. These special chests tend to give out rare items, so they're worth tracking down. If you don't want to waste time hunting for them, then here you go.

Bungie doesn't exactly make the faction finding-and-picking process easy. And once you come across a faction you like, it can be kind of intimidating to approach them and ask to be let in (though most of them are open to noobs, and if they're not they'll tell you before you contact them). Speaking of intimidating, let's talk about the Crucible. Destiny's player-versus-player arena is a kill-or-be-killed place (by definition), but there's no feeling like triumphing over other real-life gamers. Ready to dominate the Crucible?

Is there anything worse than playing your game, everything's going great, and then wham: error code. You've lost contact with Bungie's servers or some such. Shaders may be great, but Bungie left out a very thoughtful function: the ability to preview what your character will look like when you apply your Shader. Last but not least, are you ready for one big whammy of a secret? The planet Mercury comes with a hidden area that's neither easy to find nor access. It's called "Trials of Osiris," and it's meant only for the hardest of the hardcore players. Don't bother even seeking it out unless you're well above Level 20.
