The Moto G4 Plus is reportedly headed to Canada soon, set to land next week on various carriers.
So far, the Moto G4 Plus made its retail debut only in India, but it's all set to hit more markets this summer with a wider global rollout. While an exact release date for the United States is still not available, new information now offers launch details for the Moto G4 Plus in Canada.
According to a new report from Mobile Syrup, the Moto G4 Plus will launch on June 22 in Canada. The report notes that Rogers, Telus, Wind Mobile, Virgin Mobile, SaskTel and Koodo are all on board, planning to offer the handset for roughly $400 off-contract. That price is in Canadian dollars, which translates to roughly $309 U.S. dollars.
As a reminder, the Moto G4 Plus is one of the latest mid-range offerings from the now Lenovo-owned Motorola. The handset features a large 5.5-inch display with a full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, just like the regular Moto G4.
The G4 Plus model, however, also rocks a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, and it has a more powerful version with 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage space. It also boasts a better camera compared with the regular Moto G4, sporting a 16-megapixel main shooter with OmniVision sensor, Phase Detection autofocus, laser autofocus, a professional mode and more neat features.
In addition to the off-contract price of about $400, Mobile Syrup also reveals the contract pricing for the handset on Wind Mobile. The Moto G4 Plus will reportedly be available for free on the $15 WindTab plan, $199 on the WindTab Boost plan and $349 on WindTab. However, it seems that Wind will charge more for the device off-contract, slapping a $449 price tag outright. All of these prices are in Canadian dollars.
It remains to be seen, however, whether the details Mobile Syrup obtained will turn out to be accurate. Motorola has yet to make an official announcement in this regards, and only offered a vague "later this summer" timeframe upon unveiling the devices back in May.
If the Moto G4 Plus does hit retail in Canada next week, it shouldn't be long until it becomes available in the U.S. as well, likely alongside the regular Moto G4 and the cheaper Moto G4 Play.
