New Moto Camera App Now Available At The Play Store, But There's A Catch

Smartphone maker Motorola has launched an updated version of the Moto Camera app but it is not available for all handsets.

Motorola mobile phones have high-quality cameras, but they do not come with a quality camera app. The good news is the company has updated the app as of June 2.

The updated app brings many new features to the table, but there is a catch. The updated Moto Camera app can be used only with handsets launched in 2016, such as the Moto G4 series.

"The new Moto Camera app is optimized for 2016 Moto devices and integrated with Google Photos," says the Google Play Store.

The updated camera app brings improved navigation, including a shutter button, and has full manual controls as well. It also features integration with Google Photos and offers tap to focus instead of just tap to capture.

With the app's Quick Capture feature, the camera of a smartphone can be launched with a simple twist of the wrist.

The Best Shot feature of the app captures multiple images before as well as after a user has tapped. The app also recognizes issues such as blinking eyes, blurred subjects and more. Once the shots have been taken, the app recommends the best shot of the lot, which is highlighted by the Best Shot icon in the Google Photos gallery.

Motorola says the app is very fast with zero shutter lag, which means users will never miss a precious moment. The app also automatically adjusts for motion and light for capturing clear images.

It is capable of taking panorama and slow motion videos. The app includes a professional mode that gives expert users full control of exposure, ISO, shutter speed, white balance and focus.

Bonus features of the camera app include automatic business card, barcode and QR scanning, which lets users keep information at their fingertips.

The updated Moto Camera app is available as a free download from the Google Play Store and the download file weighs 19 MB.
