OnePlus just announced that the soft gold variant of its hottest new thing in the market, OnePlus 3, will not be up for grabs until the latter part of July.
The release date of this particular version of OnePlus 3 has been confirmed by OnePlus’ co-founder Carl Pei via Twitter after a curious OnePlus fan tweeted and asked Pei regarding the said variant’s availability.
Quite a few customers are actually wondering as to when they can finally order a soft gold version of the firm’s newly unveiled flagship device. This is because at the moment, the company’s online store does show only a graphite version of the device.
OnePlus 3 Features And Specs
This new phone, which was announced on June 14, sports a 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED display with 1080p resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset. Apart from having 6 GB of RAM, it also has 64 GB of internal storage.
Other nifty features and specs the phone offers include a 3,000 mAh battery, fingerprint scanner, Dash Charge support and NFC. In terms of its camera, it comes fitted with a 16-megapixel rear shooter and 8-megapixel front-facing snapper — ideal for selfie or video chat.
Optic AMOLED Display
As mentioned above, OnePlus 3 rocks a so-called unique Optic AMOLED-powered screen, but not everybody knows what exactly it is. Still, many people assume that the affixed word “optic” brings something more to the phone’s display technology.
In a particular Reddit thread called Ask Me Anything (AMA), Pei answered a few questions with regard to the handset’s Optic AMOLED display.
When one Redditor asked the co-founder how this particular tech differs from other smartphones’ AMOLED screens, he replied that the firm has “taken Super AMOLED and added [its] take on contrast and color temperature.” This results to a more “true to life” graphic display for the phone.
He added that the company built the display’s performance profile for it to work well when the phone is used in bright conditions.
The release of this newest OnePlus flagship device perhaps leaves current OnePlus 2 owners thinking of making an upgrade. For that, Tech Times recently pushed out a story that covers a comparison of what the OnePlus 3 offers versus what is in store in its predecessor.
It is anticipated that the soft gold variant will also carry the same price as the graphite version, which is $399, but we have yet to hear an official announcement from the company regarding this matter.
In any case, we'll be sure to keep you in the loop as soon as new details about the OnePlus 3's soft gold variant surface.
