Pokémon fans might be delighted to know: Nintendo has lifted the veils off its two all-new special edition Pokémon 3DS handhelds featuring Pikachu, Lunala and Solgaleo.
Yes, these two forthcoming 3DS XL units are just in time for the upcoming release of the much-anticipated Pokémon Sun and Moon games.
Nintendo says, as shared by Kotaku, that these Nintendo 3DS units are slated to arrive in Japan on Nov. 18.
The yellow model sports an image of iconic Pikachu, while the black-colored portable is designed with the two new legendaries named Lunala and Solgaleo.
As for the price, each of these handhelds are said to carry 20,304 yen (around $191). These units will not be bundled with Sun and Moon, very much like what the firm did with the Pokémon X and Y.
There is no denying that the popularity and, of course, sales of Nintendo 3DS have been waning in the past years. The said decline has been attributed to the increased fame of mobile games. It appears that the Pokémon Sun and Moon-themed Nintendo 3DS units are the company's response in order to give 3DS the much-needed boost. With all the buzz the Pokémon Sun and Moon have created in the past months, it is anticipated that these two handhelds will also be a big hit.
Pokémon Sun And Moon Video Trailer
Earlier this month, Tech Times featured the new video trailer for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. The said trailer, which apparently made the rounds online, shows off two new Zygarde Formes named Complete Forme and 10 Percent Forme. The video also gives a sneak peek at what Zygarde is like in battles.
These two upcoming role-playing video games are published by The Pokémon Company and developed by Game Freak.
QR Scanner For The Games
The publisher also recently revealed on its website that the upcoming games will feature a so-called QR scanner, giving gamers a new, exciting way to catch Pokémon. This functionality is expected to address one tedious aspect about the Pokémon experience, which is finding the rare Pokémon's location.
It is also worth mentioning that the said feature enables gamers to register Pokémon in their Pokédexes.
We expect to see more videos and details with regard to these new games in the coming months, possibly giving us more hints about these two much-awaited games in the Pokémon franchise.
In related news, a latest poll carried out by The Pokémon Company revealed that people's most favored Pokémon is not Pikachu. Japanese fans who were asked in the said survey said that Greninja is their most favored among the 721 Pokémon.
