Samsung Gear VR: Best Apps And Games For Immersive Experiences

The HTC Vive and Oculus Rift are taking the VR scene by storm with high-powered equipment and amazing experiences such as the Google Tilt Brush, but the Samsung Gear VR is still dominating the mobile VR market.

With that said, there are a couple of new games and apps making the headlines for the platform, and a few old ones that are still worth mentioning to this day. Without further ado, here are some of the best of the best:

Minecraft: Gear VR Edition ($6.99)

Minecraft: Gear VR Edition is one of the goodies that rolled out recently. To get a quick idea of what it has in store, it's pretty much like Minecraft: Pocket Edition. The two even sport the same price tag.

The only obvious difference is that this places the player into a pair of VR shoes, giving them an immersive experience in the blocky universe. They can choose to create their worlds and bash mob skulls in a theater-like setting or first-person view, which will provide a really close look at their work.

As anyone can imagine, it requires a gamepad probably because it won't be easy to move around, take down Creepers and the like and build enormous structures with the built-in touchpad of the Gear VR.

Please, Don't Touch Anything ($8.99)

As the name suggests, the player's in-game buddy needs to take a bathroom break and tasks them with not touching anything on a state-of-the-art control panel, especially that curious and irresistible red button. Of course, blindly complying with that is no fun.

What makes Please, Don't Touch Anything interesting are the numerous endings that players can achieve based on their actions. However, there's a teensy-weensy problem: they can't save their game. That means they have to start all over when they take it out for a spin again if they decide to leave a session unfinished.

Land's End ($7.99)

Land's End is just one of those games that have a lasting appeal. It even made the past lists of the best Gear VR apps and games out there and continues to do so.

Why? Well, it's because it brings a relaxing and immersive experience to the table and puzzles set in scenic environments, not to mention it's from the minds behind Monument Valley, so quality is more or less guaranteed.

Floor Plan ($6.99)

Floor Plan is a game that features a couple of oddball characters where players have to solve a series of puzzles from an elevator floor by floor.

It's arguably short, but nevertheless, it gives gamers everywhere quite an interesting experience.

Archer E. Bowman ($7.99)

Shoot down wave after wave with a trusty bow-and-arrow set and earn magical ammunition such as the BOOM-Stick and Shocker.

For those who don't know, the demo of the game already became popular way back when, and as anticipated, a couple of fans here and there are glad to see the full version out already.

That's it for the list, and needless to say, they're all available at the Oculus Store.
