Daenerys Targaryen had to step into a fire pit to birth her dragons, but fortunately, for Game of Thrones fans, getting to the dragon inside a chocolate egg from The Truffle Cottage is a lot easier.
This Game of Thrones chocolate egg cracks open to reveal a smaller chocolate dragon truffle, which fans should probably eat quickly: we already know that when dragons become bigger, they start craving human meat.
"This unique handcrafted chocolate Dragon Egg is a one of a kind!" writes The Truffle Cottage on its website. "Crack it open and find yummy chocolate-covered almonds with a stunning dragon truffle inside. All edible, and delicious."
The dragon egg also comes in a variety of flavors: choose white chocolate with a raspberry truffle, milk chocolate with a mint truffle or dark chocolate with a hazelnut truffle. Or get all three, although be warned: each egg contains almost a pound of chocolate. Each dragon egg costs $45.
For Game of Thrones fans, this is the perfect dessert for any watching party, although it's likely that you might not want to share with your friends.
The Truffle Cottage also features a variety of other geeky chocolate offerings at every price point. Three smaller dragon truffles run around $15, while chocolate Doctor Who bowties are $5 each, although the $15 chocolate sonic screwdriver looks yummy, too.
Star Wars fans can choose edible AT-AT walkers, Darth Vader and stormtrooper heads, a Death Star, lightsabers and the obvious choice: Han Solo in chocolate carbonite. The company also features chocolate figures from other fandoms, including Harry Potter, Star Trek, Supernatural and The Walking Dead, as well as chocolate creations based on anime and video games.
Earlier this year, a British department store in London, Selfridges, released a 33-pound chocolate dragon egg just before Easter. That egg, though, was not for public consumption, but was part of a Game of Thrones display in the store. The store also displayed the creation of the egg, which took more than 25 hours to design and prepare. Selfridges also offered miniature milk chocolate dragon eggs to the public for around $28 per box.
Game of Thrones airs at 9 p.m. EDT Sundays on HBO.
