Now that May is here, a couple more games have been added to the growing list of titles that support Xbox One backward compatibility. To be exact, five just joined in the fun.
The news comes from none other than Major Nelson himself, posting the development right on Twitter.
Dig Dug
Based on the name alone, it's easy to guess that the game involves a lot of digging, but did taking down Pookas and Fygars come to mind? Well, it probably did because it's unlikely to find anyone who doesn't know Dig Dug and the underground adventures it has in store.
Phantasy Star II
One of the most popular turn-based RPG titles, Phantasy Star II takes the player on quite a journey, setting them off in countless dungeons and whatnot. While the 16-bit graphics look stunning, the sci-fi plot really takes it to a whole 'nother level.
Runner2
Next up, Bit.Trip Presents ... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien — yep, that's the full name of the game. Anyway, it's a side-scrolling platformer, and the goal is to get the runner safely across the end of the stage while dodging obstacles and avoiding big falls. Right from the characters' appearances, anyone would know straight off the bat that the game is in many ways unique.
Samurai Shodown II
Weapons, action, samurais and ninjas — what's not to love? Said to be the first fighting game to include parry, Samurai Shodown II was well received in the competitive scene, not to mention that it was described to have great hand-drawn animation.
Sonic & Knuckles
Arguably the most well-known hedgehog and echidna in the world, Sonic and Knuckles are out to save Angel Island in ... well, Sonic & Knuckles. Needless to say, they are saving the floating haven from Dr. Robotnik.
