Rob Gronkowski's Tips For Being A Tinder Stud Are Pretty Funny

Rob Gronkowski is at the top of his game as the NFL's best tight end. The New England Patriots Pro Bowler would also like to think he has top-notch game when it comes to digital dating, especially on Tinder.

In an ESPN the Magazine feature, which explores athletes and their digital dating habits, Gronk flat-out told the struggling writer how to get more ladies is to swipe right and thus, score more touchdowns on Tinder.

This is coming from the same fun-loving party animal who rocked "chickmagnet4life" as his AIM screen name back in the day.

"You're not killing it?" Gronk asked the writer struggling with digital dating. "You're not doing it right."

His advice?

"Swipe right on everything," he continued. "Get the ball rolling."

Well, you would think that would allow you to cast a wider net, even though a match on Tinder is only made when the other person reciprocates and also swipes right. So, technically, you could be following Gronk's wisdom and "swiping right on everything," to no avail. However, we're thinking positively, so we'll go along with it.

As for the second piece of Gronk's sage advice?

"Make them laugh," he offered. "Just Google 'Tinder pickup lines.'"

Ha! We did just that to see if there was any merit to what Gronk was claiming and got lines like "Are you my appendix? Because I don't understand how you work, but this feeling in my stomach makes me want to take you out." Another said, "What's a smart, attractive young ... man like myself doing without your number?"

Really, Gronk? Other than getting a chuckle out of a lady, those aren't going to work.

The ESPN the Magazine piece claims that mobile dating actually counts over 100 million users, but that's not counting the social media apps such as Twitter and Instagram that get re-purposed as dating tools, especially by athletes. Some 80 athletes interviewed for the feature piece confirmed that they use Twitter and Instagram to search for the one ... or at least the one for that night.

While those athletes essentially have their social media accounts up as a front, at least Gronk is putting himself out there on the front lines on Tinder.

Then again ... Gronk did recently join Instagram.
