Who are you going to call? This time it will be the female comedians of Hollywood to save the world from ghosts and goblins. Famed funnyman Bill Murray named a few females that should be casted for the next installment of the "Ghostbusters" franchise.
Murray will not be putting on a proton pack again to return as Dr. Peter Venkman for the film, but he likes the idea that "Ghostbusters III" is rumored to feature strong females for the plot.
"I'm fine with it," Murray says. "I would go to that movie, and they'd probably have better outfits, too."
After the death of "Ghostbuster" writer and star Harold Ramis this year, the script for the reboot was to be rewritten. Rumors surfaced that "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig is in negotiations with Columbia Pictures to take the reins on the blockbuster.
Director and producer Ivan Reitman of the first two "Ghostbusters" is expected to also remain involved in the sequel. "I know that the studio is negotiating with Paul, and I think it's probably going to work out," said Camilleri. "There were always going to be women involved in the next iteration of 'Ghostbusters.' Paul seems to be the perfect director to sort of bring that about."
And who would Murray want to see battle the paranormal? The actor named comedians Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wigg as some of his potential cast picks. "Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny -- God, she's funny!" he said. "I like this girl Linda Cardellini ("Mad Men") a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there."
It's no surprise that Murray is a fan of McCarthy. The two co-star in the drama/comedy film "St. Vincent" that premiered at TIFF last weekend.
"Oh, my God, that's daunting. That's taking on a legend, a legendary movie. But I would do anything with those ladies, anything at all," McCathy said at the premier.
McCarthy confirmed she hasn't been approached yet, but won't scare away the opportunity. "Listen, if the people I think are doing it are doing it, I must never question them," she said.
