It's launch day for Bungie's epic new game Destiny. It's already the recipient of broken records like "most expensive game ever made" and "most video game pre-orders ever." But is it any fun? To get the very first reactions from gamers and critics, we turn to Twitter. Here's a cross-section of Destiny reactions.
"Firefly" and "Castle" actor Nathan Fillion already seems to be a fan.
“@katya_koseva: @NathanFillion Did you believe in destiny?” I believe in @Bungie.

Rapper/actor Common got to play Destiny early at a special red carpet party thing that Bungie hosted Monday night.
Congrats to @bungie . #Destiny is Dope! What I just saw is just epic. https://t.co/zcCZ8QmdNa — COMMON (@common) September 9, 2014
Common was joined at the event by his friend, "True Blood" actor Joe Manganiello.
LOVED being among the first to play @DestinyTheGame tonight with my man @common and others. Get your hands on this game NOW. It's incredible

As for the general public, early fan reactions are overwhelmingly positive.
Good morning twitter. Went to bed at after 3. Woke up around 7 for work. #NoRegrets #Destiny — A rogue named Lenwe (@Lenwe33) September 9, 2014
I’m playing this game right now called Taking Breaks From Destiny To Charge My Controller Because The Cable Is Short. Have you heard of it? — Tina Amini (@TinaAmini) September 9, 2014
The urge is understandable, but where's the parenting, people?
I skipped school today so I could play #Destiny even longer. @DestinyTheGame @Bungie @theDestinyBlog — Nick (@TheRagedGamer) September 9, 2014
It's not all rainbows and kittens, though. Yikes.
Just clocked a #Destiny load screen at 90 seconds. Ouch.

This French site has laid claim to supposedly have "the first official Destiny review." Too bad they didn't like it. (They fail to mention that they played it before Bungie's servers went online.)

Unlike that last one, most critics are taking their time with "Destiny," since its unique, always-online nature made it unwise to review early. So instead of day one reviews, some are posting "reviews in progress." It's kind of like live-tweeting without Twitter.
We've yet to fully reach our #Destiny, so check out @fiddlecub's review in progress. https://t.co/zKEyoXFePT pic.twitter.com/FfouLbo39M

Here's another.
Picking up #Destiny today? Check out our review-in-progress. An epic game deserves in epic, two-week review! https://t.co/9brY8BMLE7 — GamesRadar.com (@GamesRadar) September 9, 2014
Britain's The Mirror doesn't have the greatest reputation, but their behind-the-scenes piece is (surprisingly) worth reading.

And here's how Bungie is celebrating launch day. A life-sized Skiff has landed outside the Bungie offices in Bellevue, Washington.
There's a Fallen Skiff outside of Bungie's offices. Should I be worried? #Destiny pic.twitter.com/dXeKs8fD83 — Eric Neustadter (e) (@thevowel) September 8, 2014
