An Indiegogo campaign is now seeking funds for the new CoWatch smartwatch from iMCO. The company claims the CoWatch is the world's first smartwatch that comes integrated with Alexa, Amazon's voice-assistant.
The new CoWatch is also one of the most affordable smartwatches created, yet it comes packed with next-level features along with an elegant design.
"We knew the future is in wearables and from there the idea of CoWatch was born," says Eric Jin from the CoWatch Development Team.
The Alexa integration allows the user to perform several actions through the wearable after it is being triggered by one's voice. Some of the functionalities that the users can take advantage of using Amazon's cloud-based voice service include getting the latest traffic report; controlling connected devices; making a phone call; asking for a ride from Uber; paying bills and a whole lot more.
"It allows you to connect your smart home and the world around you," adds Jin.
With the CoWatch, it is easier to have a connected home where commands are always just a wrist away. By using Bluetooth 4.1 and the cloud, users will be able to dim the lights, adjust the heat, check on their car and interact with other connected devices and products.
CoWatch is also packed with a slew of health tracking features that include an accelerometer, vibro motor, heart rate sensor, gyroscope and digital compass.
For the specs geeks, the new CoWatch features a Super AMOLED High-Res Display with a pixel resolution of 400 x 400. It runs on a dual-core processor of up to 1.2 GHz and 300 MHz and comes equipped with 1 GB RAM, 8 GB flash memory, and a battery life that can extend up to 32 hours even when the wearable is in an Always-On mode.
The new CoWatch is touted to have a classic watch design that features a fracture-resistant zirconia composite ceramic body. Customers can choose between the mineral silver stainless steel and carbon black versions.
The wearable also has a variety of watch faces that allows users to customize their watch depending on their mood. With this feature, it is now possible to create the illusion of wearing a different watch every day.
Early backers of the campaign can get the CoWatch at $159. Customers from the United States, Canada and China will have a flat shipping rate of $10, while those from other parts of the globe will be charged with $25 for the shipping. The retail price will be set at $279.
CoWatch is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. At the time of writing, the campaign already reached 91 percent of its funding goal, with a month left to go.
