A recent Twitter post showed leaked images of Motorola's pipeline project, Moto G4 Plus, which hints at the presence of a fingerprint scanner, if not at any other specifications.
The possible existence of the fingerprint scanner on this 2016 flagship handset from Motorola will align with the company's claim that all its 2016 smartphones will bear this feature, which was not seen in the company's 2015 lineup.
The reliable leakster, @evleaks, is absolutely sure that his tweet shows the first look of the Moto G4 Plus, which is apparently undergoing the testing phase at Merchandise Mart.
Though the image doesn't really give away much about any other feature or specification, a physical button can be seen, which is likely to flaunt the fingerprint scanner, while the name "Plus" makes one wonder if the handset will have a 5-inch or a slightly larger display.
Motorola Mobility, now part of the Lenovo family since 2014, has not announced the launch of any 2016 flagship models so far this year. The last we heard about any Motorola handsets was when we spotted the Moto X3 on Zauba, an Indian import and export tracking website.
While the rumored handset still awaits its official launch, the next-in-line Moto G4 leaked images have surfaced online, making more "Moto" news.
The name G4 may confuse people since there have been no preceding Moto G2 or Moto G3. Nor did Moto X3 have a preceding X2. The closest reasoning for the G4 model, however, would be the fact that the company did launch three generations of Moto G handsets earlier, while we have no explanation for the "3" in Moto X3.
Before any more such leaked images and information ruin Motorola's official rollout of its flagship models, we hope the company expedites the Moto X3 launch, with Moto G4 hot on its heels sporting the rumored fingerprint scanner.
