Evil Prank Call: Someone Tricked Burger King Employees To Break All Of The Restaurant's Windows In Minnesota

A story of a prank that's gone too far, Burger King employees in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, were tricked into breaking every window of the fast-food restaurant to prevent the building from exploding.

According to the local news station KSTP, the caller claimed to be an official of the Coon Rapids Fire Department and managed to convince the manager that the restaurant was going to explode because it was "pressurized," instructing the workers to break the windows to "relieve the pressure."

Going against expectations, the staff members proceeded to do what the prankster instructed them to do.

"The employees believed the caller and broke multiple windows, police say," Jennie Lissarrague of KSTP reports.

CBS Minnesota got in touch with Ethan Grewe, one of the workers who broke the windows, to get to the bottom of things.

"It's nothing I ever came across, so I didn't know what to do. I guess I was a little scared. My other coworkers were doing it, so I just followed along," he says.

The authorities say that one employee got a minor cut, but other than that, no one else got injured.

An investigation is ongoing to figure out who made the call.

Pranks are typically done to get a good laugh, but when it's this extreme, it's just not funny at all.

"It's just a waste of time for everybody. They do this prank, but it costs everybody money," Christa Jones, a mother of one of the employees who was not on duty at the time of the incident, tells CBS Minnesota.

Perhaps prank callers should stick to the refrigerator-running bit.

Luckily, a curious passerby was nearby and recorded the whole scene unfold. Take note that the video contains profanity.

On an interesting note, pranks that go terribly wrong also happen on the Internet, particularly the recent Mic Drop on Gmail courtesy of Google.
