iPad Giveaway Prank Wants The Shirt Off Your Back: Terms And Conditions, Anyone? [Video]

It's widely common among companies and services to make their customers read and sign "Terms and Conditions" as a way to finalize the transaction.

While this may be a legal and binding document, reading and signing the Terms and Conditions seems to be taken lightly by most users. This can be due to a number of reasons that include the difficulty to read the text since it's usually printed in small-sized fonts; the lure of opting to procrastinate with the reading; the assumption that it mostly contains technical wordings that are difficult to understand; the suspicion that all 'Terms and Conditions' say the same thing over and over again; and the presumption that not reading it thoroughly will not get them into trouble.

In order to prove just how most users seem to neglect what is considered to be a legal and binding agreement, YouTube prankster Jena Kingsley decided to conduct a social experiment on the streets of New York.

"We can't do anything today without first agreeing to Terms and Conditions. But does anyone actually read what they say? Let's find out," said Kingsley at the beginning of the video.

Kingsley started to attract people by announcing that she and her team are giving away a free iPad and that they are doing it for charity.

The video shows that a number of people were interested and asked whether Kingsley was really giving an iPad for free.

"It's for the Pass It On Organization. We're teaching people to do good things for other people," explained Kingsley to a man in a red shirt.

She was also heard as reminding everyone to read the Terms and Conditions thoroughly. She even hinted a little that the Terms and Conditions may take a few things from them in return.

One woman confirmed that she's done reading the Terms and Conditions and handed back the copy to Kingsley even though it seemed like she only skimmed on the page.

The next scene shows how Kingsley asked a blonde woman for her shirt, which she also did to the man wearing glasses.

Kingsley explained why she was asking about the shirt while reading out the Terms and Conditions with her finger pointed on the page.

"Upon entry, you'll be required to donate the shirt off your back to those in need," Kingsley pointed out.

Apart from asking for a shirt donation, other things that Kingsley asked for as part of the Terms and Conditions include fostering a child, adopting a dog and donating an organ.

"Thank you for giving me a home," a young girl told the woman in black, as Kingsley informed her that she needs to foster one child since she has agreed to the Terms and Conditions.

You can watch everything in the hilarious video below. Don't worry. There are no Terms and Conditions to watch it.
