World of Warcraft player Rudeism, whose tagline on Twitch reads "I play games wrong," stayed true to his word in his latest gaming achievement.
After almost a month of playing World of Warcraft, which ended last April 3, he has finally reached the level cap using only his trusty dance pads. Recently, a player had also conquered the game using unconventional methods by just picking flowers.
Rudeism live-streamed the last 7 hours of the game on Twitch, playing nonstop, and at around 7:08:20 hours, he finally reached his goal. Rudeism is then seen laughing and getting teary-eyed, his face turning red.
He exclaims, "Yes! We did it! Oh my God! My voice is a mix of very [fearsome] emotions right now, and my voice literally doesn't work. Thank you guys, all of you, we've done it! I'm getting a little teary, excuse me. I didn't think I'd do it, I didn't think I'd get teary but you know what we do at a time like this. I say thank you to everybody and then, there's only one thing to do."
Rudeism then lapses into a little triumphant dance, outside of the dance pads, along with a couple other players in the game. His Twitch feed is seen blasted with PMs from various people who had followed his dance journey through World of Warcraft.
For the first time, Rudeism uses his keyboard to get his gameplay time. For about five days, 11 hours and 48 minutes, he had been dancing his way through Azeroth to reach the game's level cap of 100.
His Twitch feed details the rules he set out for himself, and other players who'd like to take on the challenge themselves. Challengers can only use dance pads to play the game, either one or two pads will do; the keyboard and mouse, along with the user's hands, can only be used for alt-tabbing or logging in and out; and no chatting via the keyboard unless challengers can use the dance pad to do so, otherwise, voice chat is the way to go. Challengers can also ask other players to make them bags, chat on their behalf or accompany the players through dungeons and nothing else.
Rudeism's rules also state that dungeons are to be run only once and being boosted by level 100 characters inside dungeons is not allowed; challengers cannot use any kind of heirloom; professions are not allowed; only the use of PvP servers are allowed; only one macro is allowed and that is /dance and lastly, as a bonus optional rule, no Hearthstone setting at all.
The same dance pads had also been used to defeat other games such as Superhot and one for Minesweeper. Currently, Rudeism is using the same technique for Undertale Genocide and is planning to dance his way through StarCraft 2 and Rocket League as well. He had also used other methods of gaming for other games such as a Guitar Hero controller for Rocket League, Portal and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and a steering wheel for Mirror's Edge. He plans to use these unconventional methods for future projects as well:
• (Guitar Hero) Pokemon - Five simultaneous Nuzlocke runs
• (Guitar Hero) Portal 2
• (Guitar Hero) DOOM
• (Steering Wheel) Mirror's Edge: Catalyst
• (Guitar Hero) Call of Duty: Black Ops III
• (Guitar Hero) Grand Theft Auto V
• (Guitar Hero) StarCraft II
• (Guitar Hero) League of Legends
• (Dance Pad) Binding of Isaac
• (Dance Pads) Dark Souls
• (PS2 Controller) Rude's Secret Project
