T-Mobile is set to roll out Simple Choice Data Only plans on March 30 should a purportedly leaked document hold true.
To put it differently, the Un-carrier will let customers be more in control of what they're paying for, providing them with the option to take voice minutes out of the picture for better rates.
TmoNews acquired the report, and according to it, T-Mobile will launch a slew of new bundles that range from 2 GB to 22 GB. To top them all off, they will come with unlimited texting to boot.
"Being the Un-carrier is about giving customers the freedom to use their device however they want, and that's why, on March 30, we're happy to launch new Simple Choice Data Only rate plans, which will include unlimited texting! These plans are the perfect fit for customers who do not want any voice service on their device," it reads.
Here's a quick rundown of the plans:
2 GB of data for $20 a month.
6 GB of data for $35 a month.
10 GB of data for $50 a month.
14 GB of data for $65 a month.
18 GB of data for $80 a month.
22 GB of data for $95 a month.
It's also worth mentioning that this is just right for this day and age, where most mobile owners no longer solely depend on traditional voice calls and text messaging to stay in touch with friends and family.
Needless to say, these plans are perfect for users who prefer to use Skype, WhatsApp, Google Hangouts, LINE or any other app along those lines, saving them a couple of bucks along the way.
There are also other details that should be pointed out. First off, the data-only plans are available only for GSM devices, and they are not eligible for the $10 Automatic Mobile Internet Discount. As for the BlackBerry owner, they can only be used with the BlackBerry 10 and Priv, which T-Mobile started to offer back in January.
