'Minecraft: Story Mode' Episode 5 Coming Soon, But That's Not All: Three More Episodes Confirmed

Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 5 has now been confirmed to launch real soon on PC, Windows 10, Mac, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Mobile users will also be able to download the game on their iOS and Android devices.

Owen Hill of Mojang, the developer of the game, announced that Episode 5 will be available for download beginning on Tuesday.

"I'm happy to announce that Episode 5 of Minecraft: Story Mode, 'Order Up,' will be available to download on PC/Mac, Windows 10, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and iOS and Android-based devices from March 29th!" wrote Hill.

Episode 5 is said to feature a special land that will be officially known as Sky City. Players will see Jessie exploring the new location along with his buddies, which Hill describes as an "awe-inspiring" and an "intriguing" place.

Details about the new episode are a bit scant, as the game's developers would rather see gamers play the title in order to discover more for themselves.

Released in October 2015, Minecraft: Story Mode is based on the sandbox video game Minecraft that features an episodic graphic adventure with a point-and-click narrative gameplay. It stems from the collaborative efforts of Mojang AB and Telltale Games.

Current episodes of the game include The Order of the Stone (Episode 1), Assembly Required (Episode 2), The Last Place You Look (Episode 3) and A Block and a Hard Place (Episode 4).

"Minecraft: Story Mode is like a playable television show based on your favorite game, where YOU are the star, and your choices and actions decide how the story is told," says Telltale Games. "You are Jesse, and you and your friends are thrown into an awe-inspiring adventure to save the world."

Mojang also confirms that the game will have three more episodes that are slated to arrive sometime in 2016. While the trio of extra episodes will not be part of the existing season pass, players can still purchase the upcoming episodes as long as they have downloaded at least one of the episodes from the game's first season.

"We're not going into detail about the content of those yet, but we can confirm that they'll be great, and maybe come with a slightly different flavor to the previous season," adds Hill.
