As it turns out, there is a reason Mark Hamill once did such a fantastic job playing the DC Comics villain The Trickster, and it's because he is one massive troll.
The Luke Skywalker actor has been having fun with fans on Twitter recently, intentionally pushing their buttons about possible Star Wars Episode VIII spoilers. First, he tweeted out in support of Daisy Ridley (who plays Rey in The Force Awakens) after she responded to body-shamers on Instagram. But that's not all he did. Hamill also seemed to imply that Rey is Luke Skywalker's daughter.
Of course, fans have speculated since the premiere of The Force Awakens that Rey might be the daughter of Luke, hidden on Jakku in order to be out of the First Order's reach. So far, though, her true parentage remains a mystery. Hamill, however, was far from done trolling fans. His next trick came in a congratulatory birthday tweet to Finn actor John Boyega. This time Hamill's hint was far less subtle.
How exactly Finn could be Luke's son isn't exactly clear. Is Finn the son of Lando Calrissian, kidnapped at birth? Did Luke adopt Lando's kid, only to have him snatched away by the First Order? Your guess is as good as ours.
Regardless, Hamill seems to relish playing with what fans think they know about the upcoming sequel.
Hamill doesn't appear to be the type of guy who would spoil one of the biggest secrets of the new trilogy, so it seems safe to assume that neither of his teases are actual plot points. Still, it's entertaining to see Hamill interact with fans and get them riled up into such a tizzy.
