Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced on Tuesday the release of a new free DLC for LEGO Marvel's Avengers that brings the cinematic universe of Captain America: Civil War to the gaming world.
Inspired by the new movie, the Civil War Character Pack further expands on the roster of superheroes featured in the game. The DLC features nine new playable characters including: Captain America, Black Panther, Iron Man (Mark 46), Agent 13, Crossbones, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Bucky Barnes and War Machine.
While Black Panther and Crossbones are making their video game debut, the pack unfortunately does not come with Spider-Man and his wonderful, wonderful eyes.
The DLC also doesn't come with new missions, but at least characters like Iron Man get an upgrade to his armor, and other heroes like Scarlet Witch and Captain America now feature a new costume.
Warner Bros. and TT Games announced the DLC in a new trailer that showcases the new characters in action. LEGO Marvel's Avengers allows gamers to replay some of the best moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe including Avengers: Age of Ultron and Thor: The Dark World, along with content from Marvel Comics, while playing with characters from the Avengers. Players take part in main story missions, mini games and have the ability to explore open world areas like New York City and S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. The game also features over 100 Marvel characters with each have their own abilities.
The Captain America: Civil War Character Pack is now available to download for free exclusively for PS4 and PS3 gamers. The pack will be released for other consoles at a later date.
The game's developer previously announced the exclusive Captain America downloadable content along with an Ant-Man DLC back in January. The characters can now be played in both the main game storyline and in the open world locations.
LEGO Marvel's Avengers is available for PS4, PS3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PC.
