Weddings are usually peaceful occasions, filled with laughter, tears of joy and happiness. That is unless director Christopher Nolan and the cast of "The Dark Knight Rises" decided to film on location in Pittsburgh right next to your wedding chapel. Then it would be filled with gunfire, explosions and Bane, everybody's favorite mouth-breathing baddie.
That is basically what happened back in 2011. A couple had booked their wedding location at a nearby church well in advance, only to learn upon arrival that right down the street a battle for Gotham City was raging.
One person who was on-hand for the spectacle took to Reddit to give some context for a photo of Bane in the midst of a wedding. "I was actually there watching the filming when this happened," he says. "There was no way the bride and groom could have known they were going to be filming a movie when they booked the chapel, so it basically caused a lot of inconvenience for them and their guests as there were explosions and gunfire on the street during their wedding."
Now this could totally ruin your wedding, or make it totally awesome, depending on who you are. Thankfully the film's producers were cool about the entire mix-up (and probably a little guilt ridden). They parked the tank-like Batmobile from the film in front of the chapel so the bride and groom could take pictures with it.
Tom Hardy dressed as Bane even got in on the fun, waving at bridesmaids as they walked by. In the moment, having Bane and his army distract from one of the most important days of your life may have been annoying, but looking back, your wedding is going to be way more memorable than all the weddings of your friends and family combined. In fact, the only wedding photo that might top yours is this one with Jeff Goldblum and dinosaurs. That's pretty tough to beat.
